Striving for serious fun, in a most serious setting

If you’re scanning for an affordable holiday home with jaw dropping views, expansive landscapes and solitude, and the best fly fishing in Alberta, you’ve come to the right place.

Crowsnest Riverside, established nearly 30 years ago, offers guests a cozy, well-appointed  and well stocked three-bedroom, three-bathroom cedar log lodge just steps from its namesake river.  The Crow’s a classic, easily wacrworiverside2dable stream holding some of the best wild trout angling found anywhere. And this Blue Ribbon stream is right outside your door.

No need to drive. No need to open a gate or cross a fence. From our wrap around deck you can watch for the evening hatch, read a book or scan the horizon for songbirds, eagles, elk and moose. Wilderness trails leading up the valley beckon, yet small-town stores, galleries and eateries are only 20 minutes in the opposite direction.

Take advantage of our heated floors, fireplace, loft, small library, two kitchens and two living areas. It’s perfect for four to six persons, although couples and singles are welcome, as are larger groups.

Countless miles of rivers and streams, and millions of acres of public forest lands are open to anyone with boots and a desire to hit the trail. The immediate area also boasts world renowned preserved historic and prehistoric sites, as well as small town pioneer and native museums.
crowriverside1Available at the lodge is satellite television and internet service, a barbecue and fire-pit area, and of course, unobstructed views of the Front Range of the Canadian Rockies. It’s here you find some of the most spectacular sunrises and 10 p.m. sunsets found on earth. For a change of pace, three challenging 18-hole public golf courses are within 40 minutes.

Riverside’s rates are locally competitive and flexible,  depending on group size, length of stay and time of year. Call or email us for details. Although our guests are often fly-fishers we host many visitors interested in birding, astronomy, or just reading or writing a book. Any one, really,  who wants to avoid the bustle of today’s modern world will find comfort here.

The vacation home is located an hour’s drive from Waterton-Glacier International Park, and an easy drive to Calgary International and Kalispell-Glacier International airports.
